Online Casinos Odds - New Survey Reveals Strong Support for Legalization of Online Gambling in U.S.
Results from a recent survey conducted by popular media website Scooop.net have provided valuable encouragement for pro-gambling lobbyists in the U.S. According to Scooop.net, 67 percent of Americans believe that online casinos should be legalized in the United States, and that American based online casinos should have the legal right to compete with offshore gaming operators for a share of the lucrative North American market. Statistics also indicated that American gamblers would prefer to play at U.S. based online casinos rather than at international sites.
While some skeptics question the validity of the poll’s data, other sources state that Scoop.net’s results point to a growing trend in America. Currently international online casinos derive major parts of their revenue from the American public, with some lawmakers arguing that if online casinos were legalized, a valuable source of taxation revenue would be available to the government. Over two thirds of the survey’s respondents stated that they would feel safer playing at local online casinos and pro-gambling lobbyists point out that full legalization and regulation would offer U.S. gamblers much needed protection.
Further results revealed that even people not currently playing at online casinos are in favor of legalization to help American based online casinos to compete with overseas operators. 34 percent of respondents advised they would try playing at online casinos if the practice was legalized.
